Our Brother Edward...

Edward Kimosop, an elite Kenyan runner, represents a main theme of struggle shared with the other runners in Ngong, Kenya. Edward came to the United States to pursue an opportunity of income through the avenue of running competitive races. Unfortunately, he faced mismanagement. In a time of great need, Edward remembered the generosity and the love that Micah (President of Vapor) extended through a bible study in Kenya and contacted him to aid in the situation. Micah contacted us because we had also met Edward on a survey trip in 2007, to accommodate running opportunities for him. Eddie lived with us for 6 months and during this time with him, the Lord confirmed our place to partner with Vapor and build a running sports center in Ngong, Kenya. Edward will be working alongside us in Kenya to bring sustainable life change for the people in his community.

Edward is returning this year to run the Boston Marathon. Last year was his first year to run a competitive marathon and placed 16th. This year Eddie will be flying straight from Kenya to Boston where he will have a week to acclimate to weather and time changes. He is stronger than ever and our prayers are encompassing his last days of training.
You can watch the Boston Marathon, Monday April 20th @ 10:00am (elite Men's start). Edward will be Bib #40 and will be wearing a red singlet with Vapor Sports across front. I know that many of you have been blessed by Edward's powerful testimony and his continuous faith to give God the glory for his efforts. Be praying with us as he enters this running arena in hopes to push toward the finish line top of the competitors--we are praying with him for first place!! With God pushing his body, all things are possible! Edward wanted us to thank you for all the prayers and the support. They give him much endurance and strength. We will be with him at Boston, so pray that we will be able to accommodate his transition from Kenya to Boston and that we can support him to the fullest.
